Douglas E. Maxwell of Chesterfield, Mo., is currently serving his tenth term as a member of the Boards of Directors for Shriners of North America and Shriners Hospitals for Children. Maxwell was re-elected during the Shriners� 2007 annual international convention � or Imperial Council Session � held in Anaheim, Calif., July 1-5. He serves as Deputy Imperial Potentate, part of the 13-member body that helps govern the Shriners fraternity.

As chairman of the Building and Equipment Committee for Shriners Hospitals for Children, he has overseen the construction of the new Mexico City hospital, the design and beginning construction of the new Honolulu hospital, the designing of the Portland hospital expansion project, and the designing of the Philadelphia hospital space re-utilization project. Maxwell also serves on the Investment Committee and the Planning Committee.

Maxwell has been the owner and co-founder of Maxwell Manufacturing Co., a manufacturer of conveyors and speed reducers, for 32 years. He holds a bachelor�s degree in engineering and finance from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Southern Illinois University.

Maxwell is a member of Moolah Shriners in St. Louis. In addition to having served as Potentate in 1996, he also served as chairman of the Circus Committee, Membership Committee and Restoration Committee. Maxwell reinstituted the Moolah Air Patrol�s �Children�s Flying Program,� which flies children with burn injuries to the Cincinnati Shriners Hospital. He is a 32nd-degree member of the Scottish Rite, a Knight Templar in the York Rite, and a member of Beacon Masonic Lodge #3 and the International Order of DeMolay Legion of Honor. Maxwell was also a member of the St. Louis Shriners Hospital Board of Governors, serving on the Applications Committee and Buildings and Equipment Committee.

Maxwell is a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and also the Missouri Pilots Association. He holds a commercial pilot�s license and instructor pilot�s license.

He and his wife, Patricia, have been married for 38 years.
